Everything on black and white tv

My grandchildren can't stand that I love to watch old movies. One even calls them "white movies" because, I suppose, it's too much work to say "black-and-white movies.

Mystical, magical Maleficent, now appearing

I've always enjoyed the storytelling technique of literary revisionism. That is, looking at a well-known story from a new perspective and from a different character's point of view. Similarly, I used to love a series of Marvel comics called "What if...?" What if Spider-Man became the Green Lantern? What if Iron Man battled the Fantastic Four? What if the Hulk weren't quite so angry? That kind of thing.

The Bookworm Sez: A different twist on the western in 'Thicket'

You know who your friends are. They're the ones who keep your secrets, or your car keys when you need them to. They'll loan you five minutes or five dollars, tell you when your ideas are good and your breath is bad, and can be counted on, but never out.

ROCKLAND, Maine (AP) - Far from Kansas, far from any yellow brick road and all the way to Maine, fans of "The Wizard of Oz" can catch a peek of Dorothy's blue gingham dress, a pair of her ruby slippers and even a flying monkey.
