Although the weather has been ugly, Larry Hamilton and his crew have been working through the rain every day to maintain the course. Bird Homestead Golf Course is looking amazing. Don't let the rain stop you from coming out.
Can the weather get any better for golf?! Clear sunny skies, no smoke in the air, and a light breeze to keep off the mosquitos.
Larry Hamilton and his crew have been hard at work putting in a few new tee boxes, and they look great. If you haven't played the new ones, make sure you squeeze in a round of golf to play the back nine, for an exciting new challenge.
This year's golf season was lots of fun at Bird Homestead. We had lots of new golfers for ladies night and men's night. We had a great group of juniors for our junior golf program, and lots of fun tournaments.
With the wonderful weather we have been having, Bird Homestead has had a wonderful outcome at the golf course these past couple weeks. We always love to see new golfers at Bird Homestead.
Greetings and happy golfing from Bird Homstead Golf Course, located at Mile 11.8 Funny River Road. We have been open now for about two weeks and men's night started Tuesday evening, with 20 golfers showing up and enjoying the great weather that has made us all remember why we love the great Alaska summers, even though it seems a little late this year. Five teams teed it up at 6:30 p.m. and they wound up with the usual chip-off on the infamous ninth hole for first place.
It's been a week of good golf and visiting with friends who are coming out of hibernation and golfers who are coming back from their winter digs.
...None of the ladies landed on the green on either Nos. 6 or 8, so they will carry over to next Wednesday. The Bird Homestead Golf Association is hard at work on the club storage area. The plans for the string tournament Saturday are moving along...
Check out this week's events at Bird Homestead Golf Course.
What a beautiful weekend at Bird Homestead Golf Course. We had a great turnout the entire weekend with a lot of family action and large groups getting out enjoying the wonderful sunshine. We hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend.
