I can't believe I'm writing this, but we're nearly two months into the 2015 golf season. Birch Ridge opened on April 6 this year, a full week ahead of the previous record opening date. Of course, the outlook wasn't entirely sunny in April.

A quick update on a busy July tournament schedule. ConocoPhillips is holding a nine-hole scramble Friday. Play will start at 8 a.m. We anticipate having the golf course open for regular play around 10 a.m.

Birch Ridge Golf Course has had an ominous vibe for the past few days. The views from the fifth hole overlooking the Kenai River and Funny River Road have been at times both spectacular and terrifying. I've never seen anything quite like it.
