Anderson wins Soldotna mayor's seat

Nels Anderson has been elected by Soldotna voters to step into the mayor's seat, left vacant earlier this year. According to unofficial results posted by the Soldotna city clerk's office, Anderson defeated Dave Carey in Tuesday's special election, garnering 312 votes to Carey's 206. Anderson takes over for Peter Micciche, who stepped down to serve in the Alaska Senate. The partial term ends in October 2014.
