Taxpayers shouldn't be asked to pay for visitors center

On May 1, City of Soldotna residents will go to the polls to decide the fate of the new visitors center. Lets add up the numbers -- purchase price $2.1 million, renovations $0.5 million, additional city employees $$$. Lost tax revenue $21,000 per year. Lost potential commercial enterprise that would generate tax revenue. Do you hear it? The sucking action of government, sucking the very life out of the taxpayers. This parcel of land is one of the most desirable commercial properties in the city.
