Salmon part of prosperous economy

The association of Realtors objections to the protection of our salmon streams are short sighted. Salmon are very important to our economy and a prosperous economy is essential to a healthy real estate market. Perhaps an even bigger problem is that they have misrepresented the situation in the post cards mailed to our citizens. If realtors are dishonest in this situation how can we trust them to honestly represent us when we sell or purchase property?

Hats off to local arts scene

We spent solstice evening at a wonderful local event - dinner theater with the Kenai Performers at the Merit Inn. "Suds," The Rocking '60s' Musical Soap Opera offers great music and dance from four talented young people who work very hard for an hour and a half on stage. This is a performance with a very short run. The price of a ticket is a bargain for a fine evening of good food (Kenai Catering), familiar music and great performances. The local cast and production group are are credit to our community. Treat yourself and catch it if you can next Friday or Saturday.

What service will Kenai let go next?

Last week I attended the art opening at the Kenai visitors center and was shocked to discover that our visitors center is now the Kenai Chamber of Commerce. It appears that the City of Kenai is ridding itself of some important and desirable services. First the recreation center went to the Boys and Girls Club. Now the visitors center has gone to the Chamber of Commerce. What will be next? Readers, be alert. The library may be next.
