McKenna Leighton, a sixth-grader, works on a large mural project Monday afternoon at Nikiski Middle-High School. The mural's theme ties together the school and the community. Students under the guidance of art teacher Anna Widman and mural artist Justine Pechuzal of Seward have been sketching ideas and began painting this week.
