During the annual Key Coalition rally, more than 20 people gathered to advocate for better disability services Thursday outside of the legislative information office in Kenai. Hope Community Resources staff, volunteers, people with disabilities and their families lined the sidewalk asking for a number of changes in the way the state handles benefits for people with disabilities, manages individual cases and pays support service employees.

As an organization that helps people with disabilities, Hope Community Resources Incorporated wants to make sure its clients can live as normal a life as possible. But because of an increase in fuel and health care costs and a stagnant supply of state funding, many are without the care they they need.
