The consolation game between the Soldotna and Wasilla boys was so close on Friday, that not even 30 minutes of overtime could decide the winner.
The Soldotna girls soccer squad will be playing on Saturday, but it won't be for the state championship, unfortunately, as they were beaten by the Dimond Lynx 2-0 in the semifinal round at Tom Huffer Sr. Stadium at Chugiak High School on Friday.
The Soldotna boys found themselves in the way of a tough Dimond squad on the soccer pitch Thursday at Chugiak High School, as the Lynx dominated in a 9-0 rout of the Stars at the ASAA state soccer tournament.

The Soldotna boys soccer team has quite the task ahead of them this weekend at the ASAA state soccer tournament at the Chugiak and Eagle River high school fields.
Since their 2-1 loss against Colony in the Northern Lights Conference game last Saturday, about the only thing coach Jimmy Love has been stressing to the Soldotna girls soccer team is finishing.
