Arrest made in Jones Street standoff

Alaska State Troopers have arrested an individual wanted for domestic violence charges following an hours-long standoff in Soldotna. The incident started at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday when troopers tried to serve James M. Cook, 42, with a warrant for kidnapping and multiple felony assault charges. Cook was uncooperative and troopers responded to the scene with the Tactical Response Vehicle and Special Emergency Reponse Team personnel. Central Emergency Services was stationed nearby during the approximately 6-hour incident.
