Can you believe that the month of July is already gone? The Kenai Peninsula State Fair is less than three weeks away and I hope you are planing to enter produce, quilts, baked goods, canned goods, crafts, artwork, photography or whatever project you worked hard on since the fair last August.
On this Christmas Eve day, many neighbors will prepare their own unique Christmas traditions that are carried with them and handed down from generation to generation.

I think it is a blessing to live in a community that provides so many opportunities to keep our environment safe and our bodies healthy. I see that many families are taking advantage of our Alaska spring weather to snowmachine in the Caribou Hills, as well as getting in as much sledding down Anderson Hill before the snow melts.
If you stop by the U.S. Post Office this week, you may see either Christy Drake or Kathy Bundy behind the counter. Since today, April 14, is Christy and Raymond Drake's anniversary, and Friday is Kathy and Terry Hepner's anniversary, you may want to take the opportunity to congratulate them. With our clerks' smiles and helpful service along with post master Bob Welch's sense of humor, I think we have the world's most friendly post office.
The third rodeo in the Cowboy Roundup series that was held at the rodeo grounds in Ninilchik was a success. Rodeo organizer, Shirley Schollenberg reported that the great weather and interest in participating lead to the success of the rodeo.

Debi Henderson reported that the 2007 Santa's Christmas Party, sponsored by the American Legion Family, was a huge success. Ninety-one children attended, from ages 2 months to 12 years old.
