Kenai council votes in support for veteran's memorial

With a packed crowd of veteran supporters in attendance to emphasize their position, the Kenai City Council Wednesday voted 4-2 to show support for the war memorial as it is in Leif Hansen Memorial Park and work with the state against a potential lawsuit threatening the city.

Voices of the Peninsula: Golfing community disappointed with council vote

Council votes down Lord Baranof SAD project

After listening to public testimony from three residents and discussing the project, the Soldotna City Council did not pass a resolution to form a special assessment district for Lord Baranof Street at its Wednesday night meeting. The council unanimously voted down the resolution to pave the about 330-foot gravel stretch of road and further improve the road with a rolled curb and insulation for an existing water main.

Council votes unanimously on action items

The Soldotna City Council passed a four ordinance, four resolution consent agenda at its Wednesday night meeting. Through the consent agenda, the council set Dec. 11 public hearings for four ordinances and adopted four resolutions. The council moved through its other regular agenda items unanimously passing all items. It passed one ordinance to add a Librarian I position. With the expanded library, additional staffing is needed, according to the ordinance.
