The LeeShore Center would like to thank Soldotna Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Youth Group for volunteering with our agency on June 22. Jason Steadman and 98 youth and adults cleaned our dog kennels, painted the shed and playhouse, sweep the parking lot, removed debris and planted flowers at our emergency shelter, painted window trim, did yard work and fixed the lawn mower at our transitional living facility, and moved file cabinets and furniture, washed walls, and helped with our Run for Women counting and folding T-shirts at our Child Care Assistance office.
Darren & Laura De Vaney are pleased to announce the marriage of their son, Kyle, to Heidi Browning, daughter of Brent & Toni Browning of Paul, Idaho. Kyle is a 2006 Homer graduate and is currently studying Civil Engineering at Brigham Young University in Rexburg, Idaho. Heidi recently graduated with her Elementary Education Degree from BYU-ID. KETCHIKAN (AP) - With four children, 10 grandchildren, three successful fishing lodges and more than 40 years as Ketchikan locals under their belts, Kirk and Pam Thomas were more than ready to take up a new challenge and run with it. On June 15, the couple will leave for a three-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in central Canada. "We've always wanted to serve in our married life," Pam said.
